Help Us Address the Housing Crisis – Complete the MRAC Overcrowding Survey

Your voice matters. Your experience counts.

MRAC is conducting a confidential Overcrowding Survey to better understand the real housing pressures faced by Aboriginal families in our region. We know that many households are supporting extended family and friends who have nowhere else to go — but current Government data doesn’t reflect this reality.

Why this survey is important:

  • It helps us gather accurate data on how many people are living in MRAC homes — not just those on the lease, but everyone staying there regularly.

  • It gives us the supporting evidence we need to advocate for more housing and backing from Government agencies.

  • It helps highlight the true scale of the housing crisis in the Midwest and Gascoyne regions.

Your privacy is protected. The survey is anonymous and no responses will be linked to your name, address, or tenancy.

What we’re asking:

  • How many bedrooms are in your home?

  • How many people are listed on your lease?

  • How many people actually stay there most nights?

  • What’s your relationship to those staying over?

  • Do they identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander?

  • What region do you live in?

Every response helps. Whether your household is overcrowded or not, your input paints a clearer picture of what’s happening in our communities.
